How can we advertise this site to desperate families

At the moment only a few ex fassit members are using it.

Perhaps Denise will advertise on her site. What about parentline.

Maybe its worth thinking about how we found other sites such as fassit,

Back in 2005 I read an article about forced adoption in the Daily Mail and Fassit was mentioned, I looked it up and joined.........at that time there were only about 12 members and a very slow forum.
(Fassit still exists with an excellent website with lots of up to date information which may prove enough for some)
I wonder if this address was 'plugged' with every newspaper report about family courts. if it would be helpful.

In my humble opinion. I think there needs to be a clear demarcation line on a forum between support and advice and campaigning issues.

I think it's worth getting a well worded A5 page and distributing the page through a few towns at random.

Get an eye catching header and let the content attract people.

Have a few links on the page and mention free places to get internet access.

Then .... let word of mouth spread the word.

After getting the word out, I wonder how long it will be before the government put pressure on to get this site closed down?

Just had an idea......... web address with brief description of service could be sent to the person in each PCT responsible for local implentation of the NSF for children., each year there is an updated service mapping exercise which forms the basis of the directory of services. Local officers are always keen to put anything and everything in because it makes them look as though they are providing lots of services. The directory goes everywhere, to libraries, GP surgeries, social services offices etc. It is not a directory of what the PCT provide but of what is available to the local people including national helplines.
The desciption would need to be in pretty bland language.
It could also be included in the Mental Health service directory...

We could try it. Ive found things connected to Government would tend to avoid sites like this ,as its exposing what goes on.

Are you going to give it a try?

I have given it a try locally, in principle the PCT are not opposed to including websites which offer information and support to families during care proceedings, the FRG are included, the name is the sticking point, just as it was with Fassit (when it included the word 'anti').

I think that altough we talk about support for families, at the moment Justice for Families is the name of a campaign group which comprises several 'organisations'

I know this is an old thread but I've just joined and the fassit forum is back up now (see my profile) so I have put a link there for here and I can put the link in other places too. It took me a while to find this board - had to do a google then search through.

Fassit forum back up?
I've just had a look and couldn't see that the forum was back up and running.
Can you post a link to the forum?

I have a few thousand flyers for FASSIT to hand out during our protest, also it will be displayed on the bus and cars etc so hopefully that will get it some attention.
