social services complaint system

social services complaint system

Postby scaredsister on Sun May 31, 2009 10:11 pm

hi all,

We have put a complaint into Doncaster social services this was 6 months ago we were told it would be dealt with by 2 independent people, now we seem to believe that they werent. the timescale they gave us was 6 weeks to be completed it has now been 6 months and have been told we wont get thier report back for another month. Is this right?

We dont seem to be getting anywhere with our case, no one can seem to do anything.

We had contact for the 1st time in 10 months on friday at a contact centre 40 miles from our home, it was supervised by 2 social workers from Doncaster who just didnt give a dam and didnt even introduce themselves to us...my siblings are very subdued and covered from head to toe in bruises and scratches and eczema. The social workers comment was that the kids paternal grandparents were taking them to the docs after contact.

We are urgently seeking help with our case, any advice is greatly appreciated also. We have tried every avenue in sheff court that we can possibly think of.

Please, this is my brother and sisters lives Doncaster are playing games with, they have been damaged by what they have done to them and by placing them with a violent father! Justice needs to be fought for and I wont stop till I get it but I need a little help a long the way...

My complaint has been there 4 years and only just been resolved.

there are timescales and if you are not happy contact the LGO and get it moving. It should be at stage 3 by now.

Also did you get a black independent investigator? . He covers all of these areas? he is crooked and does whitewashes and gets paid thousands.
I asked for an independent investigator. First one was a complaint officer in the next county and our CO said they did 2nd stage complaints for each other!!!!???

they do set you up.

www.frg.org.uk

family rights group has the latest complaints procedures and can send them by e-mail of how SS should handle complaints.

I think you need some media exposure. Can anyone like JH help?

Lol I had 2 independent people as well, they are however totally useless and are nothing more than cronies for the council.

What they aim to do is to get you to change and reword the complaints so that they are easier to whitewash, they will aslo try to remove some issues from the complaint.

When you get the report they will either uphold nothing (if your complaints are all serious)

or

Dismiss the serious complaints and uphold a very small almost unimportant one.

A total waste of time these people.

tell then they have a fortnight to reply or a Third Level complaint will be sent on that date.

Indeed that the 6 month delay itself merits a Third Level complaint.

Very Good Idea, I will do just that.

Its about time they started taking thing seriously specially when children's innocent lives are involved!

I will write out a stage 3 complaint I will post it as well as email it, whilst doing that I will write to them again urgently requesting the outcome of their complaint. As they have been playing games with us, and everytime I have requested info about the complaint they have been laughing!

Oh I forgot.

The LGO can come in after 3 months. As it's 6 remind them of that and sent off a preparatory letter to to the LGO whilst you are waiting.

You can put your complaint directly to stage 3 as they have overstepped the time limit.

The LGO told me that the complaints system has changed and you can bypass all the stages and ask it to go to the LGO. Especially as its taken so long.

Mone took 4 years. Its unacceptable and im going to write to my MP etc.

I have a local councillor involved in our case, and he is trying to obtain my mums SS file. Although they are being funny about it, regarding the Complaint above its only at stage 2 and we have still not heard anything but the woman dealing with it sent an email explaining the next step does not involve the ombudsmen but the one after does if we are dissatisfied.

But Doncaster Local Authority have told the councillor he cannot view the file because it is with the ombudsman at the minute. But we know nothing of this...What is going on can anyone tell me please or does anyone know where I can go from here they are obviously hiding something

Something funny is seriously going on in Doncaster I cant get to the bottom of it.

:S
Thanks

I think they are lying to the counsellor to stop him helping out. They lied with my complaint.
SS also wrote to the lgo with a slur on me. The lgo actually posted it to me and ss didnt expect it. Expect dirty tactics.

You have to ring,e-mail or write to the LGo to clarify this. Are you with the York LGO?

That is exactly what they did to mine. One got in a temper cos i wouldnt write it out like he had wanted, which was, incidentally, exactly like the CO had written it. He said he couldnt investigate it like I had written it.As my solicitor said he could just have written that in the 2nd stage report.

The LGO criticised the 2nd stage report and said he should have done it again. Skeete it was. He covers the Yorks area. But they wont investigate him.

I put in a request for copies of my records which I believed I could do under the Freedom of Information Act. It took 7 months and pressure from a local member of parliament and then I was allowed to look at my records for two hours, not enough, because there was quite a pile. I specifically said I wanted COPIES but I was only allowed to look.

I asked my lawyer who said that social services had the discretion to withdraw my right to copies, but not my right to look.

For anybody having trouble I would suggest contacting a Member of Parliament because it will push Social Services. I was totally ignored of my records otherwise.

For anybody else, I live in Scotland, and here there are no forums or anything else. We have to piggy back on your forum or there is nothing.
