A Limited Company has been established.

http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/5d026 ... ompdetails

Membership is open to experienced JFF advisors who have acted on other people's behalf.

It is important, however, to be aware that this would involve buying a share for £1 and that people would then be on a list at companies house (not immediately).

Hence if anyone does not wish to be registered publicly as a member they should not buy a share.

I will sort out the application route. I am the first member. Stuart Syvret of Jersey is likely to be the second member as we are likely to initiate proceedings against the UK Government in respect of the cover-up in Jersey.

Acted on their behalf in court you mean as MK's. Not for people who have just given advice by e-mail or on site, being a general campaigner I mean.

What powers or benefits does being a limited company bring. Obviously the right to take legal action.

About the Jersey case the Gov aren't even trying to locate the people who were residents of the children's home. Its appalling how they treat ex care leavers, that's if they survived also!!

I'm not in a position to join, but does this conceivably mean that dividends could be issued? I'm presuming that any paper profit would be reinvested into training and materials (books etc.) which I guess would be offset against any corporation tax.

Also, although not employees, would MK's be able to claim expenses (travelling, subsisdence) through the company, and would the firm be able to claim back VAT for said expenses?

For dividends to be issued there would have to be income. However, it does give potentially a structure for various activities. There is a small amount of income already.

It is open to anyone who does work for other people whatever tier of advisor they are. However, they must have done work for a few people first and they must be people that they are not related to.

Does this mean John that when I am asked for my details say in a case conference/court where I have been mentioned to be from Justice for Families I can give a company address and not my home address, also why would someone not be able to have a share, would it effect someones benefit entitlement or something.

Any way this is excellent news and a good move.

You'd have to declare it for benefits, but a £5 or even £10 in shares, is below the £1k cash that they're hoping to find. In addition to that stash of cash, under the bed, and the apartment in Benidorm... :D :D

They are a treat aren't they!

I think you will find you can have 6K in savings including shares etc before declaring it to benefits not 1K.

Shares give people some control in the organisation. The organisation should, therefore, only have advisors as shareholders.

People may not wish to appear on the shareholding register, but yes otherwise the registered office address can be given for JFF.
