Are you able to say why you are no longer a member?
Suzy, perhaps we need to clarify who that group actually are, where are all the case histories that were given in good faith and how exactly is that information is being used.
@cavvy
It was reported in 2006 that the Group comprised Dr Richard Taylor, Earl Howe, and MPs Jon Cruddas, John Hemming, Nick Gibb, Tim Boswell and Damian Green and that Oliver Cyriax was also associated with this project.
I agree that the group should be transparent about their current make-up. If this cross-party group had been on the "Approved" Register for All-Party Groups then the Register would list the names of the office holders, the twenty members who make up the group, the date of the group's last AGM and some additional information, like benefits and who provides the Secretariat; if the group were on the "Not Approved" Register, the only obligation is to list the office holders, not any other members.
But since this appears to be a very informal group then its membership cannot be established unless the Chair is willing to be transparent.
I've no objection to contacting Dr Taylor again and asking him to identify the group's current members but since I haven't submitted material myself, the question of what use is being made of the material, where the data is being held and by whom, and how long it is envisaged it will be retained for, is perhaps, best put to Dr Taylor by those who have submitted data and returned questionnaires.
For the record, this is what I had written to Dr Taylor on 28 February 2008:
To: Dr Richard Taylor, Chair, Cross-Party Group on MSBP (FII)
Dear Dr Taylor,
I am contacting you in your capacity as Chair, Cross-Party Group on MSBP (FII).
In August 2006, a press release was released in connection with the formation of the Cross-Party Group on MSBP (FII). In October 2006, a survey questionnaire was circulated.
To the best of my knowledge, very little further information has emerged in connection with the progress of this project. There has been a certain amount of speculation, recently, regarding the current status of this group and the project's progress, in general.
As Chair of the group, I would be grateful if you could confirm whether the group is still functioning, provide an update on the current status of this project and clarify whether it is the group's intention to produce a report resulting out of its investigations and if so, when a report might be anticipated?
Many thanks.
Sincerely
Suzy Chapman
